A Visit with Our Aunt

Simon and Elijah sitting on Aunt Drexell's back porch, waiting for her get home. (When we got to her house, she has left for an "emergency" errand.

But the wait was well worth it! Aunt Drexell found a water bug and saved it for the little boys to look at.
And look at...
And then to poke at. (Later in the afternoon, Elijah got the cup the bug was in and drank it. It being the water, but not the bug thankfully!)

Aunt Drexell had another surprise. Around her garden border, she had put up over 25 pinwheels!
Here's Elijah talking to them in baby gibberish.
And then they pulled the pinwheels up and played with them. By the end of the day, all the pinwheels had been "uprooted" and several had to be laid to rest in the trash can.
After all the mayhem outside, it was time for a snack. Aunt Drexell graciously provided dried cranberries and crackers. Healthy and delicious!

Poor little Elijah was so tired, he took a nap and dreamed of playing with the pinwheels again I'm sure.
While Elijah slept, Simon ate a banana...
And took his manly little toolbox and tools outside to "fix" things.
(Sorry, I forgot to rotate this picture, enjoy the chance to stretch your neck.) Aunt Drexell and the little boys made squash biscuits, they were so very good.
The fruit of Elijah's labor.

(Work with me...) The fruit of Simon's labor.

While the biscuits cook, the boys went back outside for their afternoon romp. They had a lot of fun playing in the dirt.

And now the Biscuits are ready to come out of oven. They smelled so good!

This was just a really neat picture. I took the picture upside down on accident.
Simon's jumping for joy.
Right about the time we got ready to leave, it started to rain. So of course we had to play and get wet.
Elijah was "col, col Momma" (That's cold, cold Momma for those of you who don't speak baby.)after the rain stopped.

These are the pinwheels after it rained and we put all the undamaged ones back in the ground.
We had such a wonderful time with our Aunt Drexell. It was very relaxing day. I was able to spend a lot of time with my Aunt talking about God and things He was doing in my life. We also got to discuss natural health remedies for her and my Uncle.
I want to publicly thank God for providing this time of refreshing.
